Started in April 2017, Pling has supported creators through a payout system funded by community donations. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has contributed — by creating, sharing, donating, or simply being part of this community.

A big Thank you everyone for your trust, creativity, and generosity over the years.

It is with this post that after almost 9 years of operation, we have to announce that the donation-funded payout system will be concluded by March 31st, 2026 (Central European Time).

What This Means for You

Until March 31st, 2026: The payout system remains fully operational.

As usual, by April 15th, 2026, the final payouts will be processed. That means after March 31st, 2026, the donation-funded payout system will be no longer paying out monthly donation in the distributed way.

For donors: All recurring PayPal donations will be cancelled automatically after March 31st, 2026. You do not need to take any action.

Looking Ahead

This change affects only the payout system. Pling will continue to operate and develop the platform and its services as a means to distribute libre solutions directly to the users of KDE and other Linux software, ensuring that users, creators, and supporters have a reliable place to share, discover, and collaborate.
